In addition to teaching at the New York University School of Social Work, Joan has expanded her photography passion into an additional profession. She has had major one-artist photography shows in Italy, her husband, Mario's native country. Next year (June 1-30, 2008), she plans to have a one-person show at the fabulous Castello Doria in Portovenere. Read more about Joan's shows in Italy.

In it, Joan has enjoyed bringing both parts of her professions together with stunning photos and 30 interviews with folks on Virgin Gorda, who tell their personal stories. Virgin Gorda, a Britiish Virgin Island, has grown and changed so much since Little Dix Bay opened its doors to the public in l964, catapulting the tiny island into worldwide fame.
